#4.) A “Tier-2” WWE contract
When WWE superstars start training at the Performance Center, they’re offered full-time contracts and eventually make their debuts in NXT. Both Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa and had making fairly regular appearances for the yellow brand but weren’t signed to the company. The first contract that they did sign in 2016 was something known as a “Tier-2” contract.
The Tier-2 contract states that the superstar is allowed to work independent shows but must work the dates that WWE asks them to. This likely worked out well for them as Full Sail tapings usually take place once a month, requiring them to commit once or twice a month while also earning money from independent shows.
Just months later, however, they signed full-time with WWE.
