Given that it’s the second most prestigious title in the industry, it may come as a surprise to learn that the Intercontinental Championship has never been defended inside the cell. The World titles, tag titles, US title and even women’s title have been defended in the cell but the Intercontinental Championship remains the only title in the grand slam row to be left out.
Someday, that could change. But for now, it doesn’t look to be the case. It would certainly help elevate the prestige of the championship if it is to happen.
