As mentioned, Kevin Owens’ real name is Kevin Steen. But why did he choose to rename himself, Kevin Owens, when joining WWE? Apart from the regular reason of WWE wanting to trademark his name, He chose ‘Owens’ because his son’s name is Owen. Interestingly enough, he named his son after the late great Owen Hart, who he felt had a major impact on him growing up.
Owen Hart would have been proud.
