Becky Lynch was Sasha Banks’ first major rival once the latter became NXT Women’s Championship. As the number one contender, Becky and Sasha had a lot of heat in their rivalry due to their alliance which had disintegrated not too long before. Their heated rivalry would culminate in a title match at NXT Takeover: Unstoppable, where Becky Lynch debuted her “straight fire” orange hair, something which she keeps to this day.
The two had an instant classic, with the fans going wild for both. In an intense 15-minute match-up, Banks would retain after submitting Becky. But Becky seemed to win more than she lost in the match. She won the hearts of fans, who sang her theme song in praise after her incredible effort. It was a touching gesture by the fans and established Becky Lynch as a true fan favorite.
