#2.) Dean Ambrose vs Triple H – Roadblock 2016
March 2016 was perhaps the hottest that Dean Ambrose had ever been and fans were yearning to see him main event WrestleMania. There was no doubt that he was the single most popular star at the time, but it wasn’t meant to be as Roman Reigns was handpicked for the main event spot like the years that would follow.
Either way, Ambrose received a WWE title shot against Triple H at Roadblock, a WWE network special. He had outstanding chemistry with The Game and the biggest tease came when the referee hit the three count, only to reverse the decision after Triple H’s foot was technically under the ropes.
Triple H would go on to win the match but it was a tease of what could have been at WrestleMania. Ambrose would capture the WWE Championship three months later after winning the Money In The Bank contract.
