Triple H was fresh off a victory at WrestleMania 2000 and The Rock was the one who got double-crossed by Vince McMahon, who cost him the WWE title. With the odds severely stacked against him, Linda McMahon announced that Stone Cold Steve Austin would be making his long-awaited return to corner The Rock.
During the match, The Rock had the numbers game playing against him but the entire match, the crowd was hot. The moment the glass shattering noise was heard, the entire arena erupted and for the few minutes that Stone Cold was present, they didn’t stop screaming for a second. The atmosphere alone made the match an unforgettable classic. The magic that happened in the ring only furthered it, with Stone Cold helping The Rock become WWE Champion again.
