#1.) Winning the TNA World Heavyweight Championship – Lockdown 2008
The stakes couldn’t get higher for the World title match between Joe and Kurt Angle at Lockdown 2008. It was Angle’s title on the line vs Joe’s career. Inside of a six-sided steel cage, the bout was a technical masterclass which was unique for its time since it very much tapped into an MMA-style offense.
The match built up gradually and would end up being a classic that saw Joe capture his sole world championship with TNA. It was a great moment to prove that he was “the guy” of the company at the time. There were very few stars hotter than Samoa Joe at his peak in TNA.
