#5.) WWE main roster debut
When Samoa Joe signed with WWE in 2015, he was told right off the bat by Triple H that his deal would likely not mean a run on the main roster, primarily due to the fact that he was in his late 30s. Joe accepted the deal regardless and after a very successful run in NXT that saw him capture the NXT Championship twice, he would make the jump to the main roster in early 2017, debuting as Triple H’s hired gun.
It was a surreal moment that not many thought that they would see. Joe would make an impact right off the bat. Despite missing two consecutive WrestleManias, he would and continues to play a huge role in the WWE main event scene, be it on RAW or SmackDown Live.
Would the same have happened years ago? One can only wonder.
