#2.) Hulk Hogan wasn’t the first man to bodyslam him
Andre The Giant and Hulk Hogan had a memorable bout at WrestleMania 3 that’s most remembered for the moment where Hogan bodyslammed André, leading to a crowd of 80,000+ people jumping in excitement.
However, when WWE tells you that this was the first time that Andre The Giant was ever bodyslammed, it isn’t exactly true. In fact, it wasn’t even the first time that Hulk Hogan bodyslammed Andre. It wasn’t even the second…or third…or fourth..or even fifth time that it happened.
Hogan bodyslammed Andre four times during the summer of 1981 and once more a year later. However, the list of people that bodyslammed Andre before WrestleMania 3 includes Strong Kobayashi, Butcher Vachon, Harley Race, Stan Hansen, Kamala, Antonio Inoki, El Canek, Riki Choshu Otto Wanz. This is excluding The Wild Samoans, who were among a few teams who double-bodyslammed André.
By the time WrestleMania 3 had come around, Hogan had enough experience bodyslamming Andre The Giant. It should be noted, however, that by the time 1987 had hit, Andre was a lot heavier and a lot less athletic, so it isn’t to completely deny Hogan of the incredible feat.
