#1.) “Stone Cold” Steve Austin

In 2001, Angle and Austin were both part allies at first, but when Austin turned to join the Alliance, things got heated. It wasn’t about cowboy hats or guitars or comedy, it was all out war. Kurt Angle was at his hottest as a babyface and had faced Austin at SummerSlam in an attempt at the WWE Championship, which failed due to DQ.

The next month, however, Angle would tap Austin out and capture the title in a great feel-good moment which was much needed, especially since it was soon after 9/11.

Unfortunately, he would lose it back to Austin two weeks later, but Angle did have the last laugh in the Invasion storyline as he helped Team WWF defeat Team Alliance.
