Seth Rollins became the first person to hold both the WWE Championship and United States Championship at the same time after defeating John Cena in a title-for-title match at SummerSlam. It was a great match that ended in bizarre fashion thanks to Jon Stewart, who attacked Cena and cost him the match.
Stewart justified his actions the next night on RAW by saying that he didn’t want to see anyone tie Ric Flair’s 16 World Championships record. Rollins was, however, the beneficiary of this. No one could argue that it was the wrong decision. 2015 was Seth Rollins’ year and he was by far the top performer in the company at the time.
