#4.) Roman Reigns vs AJ Styles
Heading out of WrestleMania 32, fans weren’t pleased with Reigns’ coronation after beating Triple H in an underwhelming match in the main event. However, things took a turn for the brighter on the RAW after ‘Mania, where AJ Styles became #1 contender for the WWE World Championship.
With Styles being hardly 3 months into his WWE tenure, it was a shock to see him in a high profile feud fast, but despite this, both he and Reigns delivered throughout the feud. The addition of The Usos and the newly debuted Gallows & Anderson only added more spice.
Reigns and Styles would main event back-to-back pay-per-views at Payback and Backlash, with both matches receiving heavy acclaim from fans, despite not being satisfied with a similar finish. But all said and done, both superstars came out looking good, especially Styles after being defeated twice. The feud would be a catalyst for Styles’ rapid rise in the WWE as he feuded with John Cena next and was victorious, eventually winning the WWE Championship in September of that year.
