Honorable mentions: Mick Foley, John Cena & Shawn Michaels – 4 appearances each

Since the fifth place is tied between three superstars, we’ll have this as an honorable mention. Mick Foley is one of the most iconic Hell in a Cell performers of all time. Unfortunately for him, all of his matches in the Cell would end in defeat. Naturally, the most famous match is against The Undertaker at King of the Ring 1998, where he became immortal forever.

However, his best match inside the Cell is undoubtedly his retirement bout against Triple H at No Way Out 2000, where the WWF title was also on the line.

Shawn Michaels was a part of the first-ever Hell in a Cell match and perhaps the greatest one till date. While the other three were good, they didn’t match up to his first match inside the steel structure. As for John Cena, it’s no surprise that he has this many appearances inside the Cell. However, it wasn’t a stipulation match he was well-known for.
