#1.) John Cena – 2005

John Cena received a well-deserved coronation at WrestleMania 21 when he became WWE Champion. In the main event of that same night, Batista received a coronation of his own, becoming World Heavyweight Champion. While it looked like Batista would be WWE’s top guy, the company rightfully decided to go with John Cena.

Wanting to take his superstardom to a new level, they drafted him to RAW a few months after WrestleMania, while Batista was drafted to SmackDown, taking the World Heavyweight title with him. It was a brilliant switch and a well-timed one. The move to RAW cemented Cena as the future top star of the company and he would have a decade-long tenure on the top, only ever being drafted back to SmackDown in 2009 (for about one minute) and then in 2016.

That move to RAW really thrust him into becoming a megastar.
