Having two exclusive rosters has always been beneficial for WWE. Even though they have historically been known to run out of patience time and again and ending the brand split, it is something that is tried, tested and proven. When you have two separate rosters, it gives a sense of identity to each brand and the level of competition from within is the healthy kind.

Moreover, superstars themselves will always prefer that because it gives more space and more opportunity for them to shine. It gives a spot to be filled and more hungry superstars competing to get that very spot. We have seen many cases where superstars have succeeded on SmackDown, only for WWE to immediately put them on RAW to try and replicate the same success.
