A ‘Hell’ Of A Performance: The Most Underrated Hell In A Cell Matches In WWE History

#2.) DX vs Legacy – Hell in a Cell 2009

While the DX runs in 2006 and 2009 weren’t exactly the best, the latter run saw the veteran duo have a rather underrated feud against Legacy. They beat Legacy at SummerSlam and faced them again at Breaking Point in a submission match, where the young up-and-coming team picked up the victory.

The rivalry culminated at Hell in a Cell 2009, where they main evented the PPV. It was a huge spot for the young Cody Rhodes and Ted Dibiase Jr. and though they didn’t win, they played a very smart game, attacking the two during their entrance and locking Triple H out of the cell.

It resulted in a beatdown and a classic old-school spot where Triple H had to use bolt cutters to get through and make the save. It was a brilliantly executed match and the young duo looked good even in defeat.
