In modern-day wrestling, the entire concept of kayfabe essentially hangs on a loose thread and it’s clear that it doesn’t have the same impact that it used to. As a result, the line between heels and babyfaces are a lot blurrier than before and especially given the fact that so many fans know the nature of the business, many don’t like being told who to cheer for and who to boo.

However, this isn’t a new concept and for as long as wrestling has been around, there have been many babyfaces who have been outright rejected. Normally, this would be a telling sign that they needed to turn heel and on most occasions, that did happen, while on some, WWE insisted that they didn’t need to pull the trigger.
