It was 1999 and believe it or not, Michael Cole was on commentary. The young Cole would have to call what was undoubtedly the biggest test of his career as Mankind took on The Rock for the WWF Championship on RAW. It turned out to be one of the highest-rated episodes of all time and it would see Mankind overcome The Rock and pick up the WWF Championship.
It was one of the most feel-good moments in WWE history and Michael Cole made the call, stating: “Mankind has achieved his dream, and the dream of everyone else who’s been told ‘you can’t do it’!”
It was a truly brilliant call in an inspirational moment.
