Daniel Bryan was bar none the hottest star of 2013. The amount of momentum he gained after separating from Kane was far more than what was expected and his popularity led John Cena to handpick him as his opponent to challenge for the WWE title at SummerSlam. Bryan and Cena didn’t exactly get too physical prior to the match, but they did have an intense war of words.
Of course, the real talking was done in the ring and both competitors brought it in a way like never before. Cena had one of his best matches in ages and Bryan continued to prove why he was the hottest commodity in WWE. He pinned John Cena clean as a whistle to become WWE Champion. His happiness was short-lived as special guest referee Triple H attacked him, allowing Randy Orton to cash in his MITB briefcase.
