In 2010, Slammiversary was set to kick off with an epic encounter between Kurt Angle and Kazarian. While some were surprised at TNA’s decision to make the match open the show, nobody questioned it once the bell had rung. As it turns out, when you put two great wrestlers in a ring against each other, they’re able to produce magic.
In a nearly 15-minute match, Angle fed off the energy from the crowd, who were completely behind the Olympic Gold Medalist. Kazarian proved that he could hang with the very best and took on Angle counter for counter. It turned out to be a great effort but at the end, Kazarian was forced to tap to a submission master.
