In wrestling, there have been countless instances where superstars were either ahead of their time or would have been perfect in a prior era. With Tanahashi, that wasn’t the case at all. When NJPW decided that he was to be the top star and not Shinsuke Nakamura, it turned out to be the perfect time to pull the trigger on him.
Even his whole rise to the top could not have come at a better time. He was literally the perfect man at the perfect time and the perfect place.
