Edge would have been a great candidate to end The Undertaker’s streak. He was the hottest heel of the Ruthless Aggression era and his rise to the top was nothing short of incredible. He and The Undertaker had one of the most underrated WrestleMania main events of all time, where The Phenom dethroned Edge to become World Heavyweight champion.
The backstage stories about this match is that Edge was pitched the idea of ending The Undertaker’s streak, but he outright refused to do so out of respect for The Deadman. It turned out to be a great call from Edge and he delivered in a big way in his sole WrestleMania main event.
