#1.) Mankind‘s WWF Championship win

From being an unconventional heel, Mankind eventually found himself as the second biggest babyface in the company, only behind Austin. Just a few months after Survivor Series 1998, he was the victim of a conspiracy, where the McMahon family did a repeat of the Montreal Screwjob, crowning The Rock as champion.

Fans badly wanted to see Foley become champion and a month later, that’s exactly what would happen. On a taped episode of RAW, Mankind won the WWF title in one of the most emotionally-fuelled moments in WWE history. WCW, due to them being live, knew the spoilers and spoiled it on live TV, stating “That’ll put a lot of butts in the seats”. Ironically, the move backfired and fans tuned out of Nitro and tuned into RAW in masses to see Mankind’s title win. It was a huge moment for WWF as they finally beat WCW in ratings. The tides would turn heavily from here.
