WWE will always promote DX as a rivaling faction to nWo. The reality is that they weren’t anywhere close, let alone the same level. nWo’s impact on the Monday Night Wars and wrestling as a whole simply can’t be overstated. Scott Hall and Kevin Nash‘s sudden arrival set the wrestling world abuzz, but when they shockingly recruited Hulk Hogan as the “third man”, fans knew that wrestling would never be the same.
nWo’s popularity saw WCW shoot to the stratosphere, constantly beating WWF in the rating war. For over two years, nWo was the hottest thing in all of wrestling and they would cause a big change, helping create some major stars as well. Their popularity did decline post-1998, but even then, they lasted until 2001. But during their peak, WCW was more or less the nWo show.
