Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens had a good match at Payback, where Owens won clean. After both failed to get the Intercontinental title and then the Money in the Bank briefcase, they focused on each other again, with Zayn picking up a victory over Owens in a quick match on RAW.
This was the culmination of their rivalry and they gave everything they had, leaving the crowd awe-inspired, giving them a standing ovation mid-match. If that wasn’t enough, they told an emotional story, with Zayn contemplating showing mercy to Owens at the end. Better judgment would prevail and Sami Zayn would end up beating Owens, getting a moment of redemption.
