The Miz was one of, if not the best superstar of 2016. His Intercontinental Championship reign was arguably the best in the entire modern era and it showed from the stories he was involved in, his character development, the addition of Maryse (which made a much bigger difference than people realize) and the matches he had.
He found himself in a tricky situation at Extreme Rules, where he faced #1 contender Cesaro, former champion Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn in a Fatal-4-Way match. The start of the match even had a throwback to Survivor Series 2009 when Shawn Michaels took out Triple H in the beginning.
It turned out to be a high-intensity match that had the crowd on their feet throughout. All performers created a moment of magic and The Miz managed to walk out champion thanks to Sami Zayn’s obsession with Kevin Owens.
