But one had to happen. What was guaranteed, however, was an all-time classic – which is exactly what the fans got.
The match was intense and it was a psychological war of sorts. The storytelling and the emotion were second to none, with Michaels showing the heart of a warrior whose time had clearly passed. In the end, his heart and relentlessness just weren’t enough, as The Undertaker mercifully put him away and ended his career.
The entire build with Michaels being desperate to face The Undertaker was absolute magic and it was a deserving main event. Michaels said his emotional farewell to the WWE Universe after having what many consider the greatest career in WWE history.
