#1.) Kurt Angle vs Chris Benoit -Royal Rumble 2003
This is the third time Angle has featured on the list and for good reason. Perhaps the greatest Royal Rumble PPV match of all time, Kurt Angle defended the WWE title in a dream match against an underdog in Chris Benoit. It lived up to expectations and more, with its high-volume, high-intensity and fast-paced nature.
The two wrestled as though they knew every move of each other’s and they could anticipate what was coming as well. They were essentially even at all points of time and it was just a matter of who was better at the moment. That happened to be Kurt Angle, who narrowly walked out with his WWE title intact.
