#3.) The Ultimate Warrior
The Ultimate Warrior became one of WWE’s biggest stars in the era and when he won the Intercontinental Championship, it raised his stock big time. It was Honky Tonk Man‘s 454th day of his record IC title reign. He was originally supposed to face Brutus “The Barber” Beefcake at the first SummerSlam event, but things changed and The Warrior answered his open challenge, beating him in a whopping 13-seconds.
While that may not have gone over well now, the ovation that Warrior received spoke volumes of just how loved he was. He was easily the most dominant Intercontinental Champion of all time and he would lose the title to Rick Rude at Wrestlemania V before getting his vengeance months later at SummerSlam.
His dominance as champion made him the first Intercontinental Champion to ever headline WrestleMania, where he took on Hulk Hogan in a champion vs champion match. He won the contest, temporarily becoming a double champion.
