Even though CM Punk’s lengthy WWE title reign wasn’t setting the world on fire, he would feud with Daniel Bryan before the summer of 2012 and it would turn out to be quite a good one, as both made the most out of what was given to them. AJ Lee was the special guest referee of the match and she was also Bryan’s on-screen girlfriend at the time.
She actually did end up adding to the match and the two told a great story. AJ Lee was reluctant but forced to make the count as CM Punk ended up beating Daniel Bryan. It was truly a dream feud and dream match and the two former ROH World Champions delivered.
