The second half of 1998 saw Goldberg at his very peak, with no superstar on the roster being hotter than him. He was tearing through the roster on an undefeated streak, and instead of capitalizing on the match on PPV, Eric Bischoff decided to give it off on free TV, in front of Goldberg’s hometown crowd in the Georgia Dome.
41,412 fans went wild as Goldberg tore Hollywood Hogan apart in an 8-minute bout. It was no technical classic, but it was an incredible moment, one that saw WCW absolutely crush RAW in the ratings.
