After the boyhood dream came true for Shawn Michaels at WrestleMania 12, it was right back to work for the newly-crowned WWF Champion. His first major feud was against The British Bulldog, one that began because Bulldog was furious at Michaels for trying to woo his wife Diana.
They had their first contest at In Your House: Beware Of The Dog, but the inconclusive draw led to an immediate rematch at King of the Ring 1996. Here, Michaels and Davey Boy Smith would go at it in one of the most underrated matches of the year. Michaels would walk out victorious.
