#5.) The Rock vs John Cena – WrestleMania 29
This ranks only 5th on the list for a very good reason. For one, it was not a rematch that people were particularly keen on seeing (though the PPV buys tell another story). The match was already advertised the previous year as “Once in a Lifetime” despite WWE knowing well that The Rock was in it for two matches against John Cena.
John Cena would avenge his loss for the previous year, but the reaction wasn’t too strong, and it felt like it came a bit late, because Cena’s run as the face of the franchise would hardly last another two and a half years after that. He would then follow The Rock into a Hollywood career, one that’s been thriving since.
