D-Generation X are WWE icons at this point and are remembered as one of the all-time great factions. Their rise to the top came at a very important period of time in WWE, i.e, the Monday Night Wars. WCW was beating WWE in the ratings week in and week out, and the New Generation Era stars weren’t living up to the mark and drawing the ratings required to beat their competitors.

WWE needed an edge. They needed something new. They needed attitude. And that’s exactly what happened. The Attitude Era is officially recognized to have begun around the period of WrestleMania 14, but we began to see the company move towards a non-PG direction around 1996-1997 as well.

This was when DX had formed, and they made a bigger wave than many had expected. It’s believed that they were formed to combat the popularity of nWo. Whether you believe WWE’s narrative of DX being more popular is up to you, but there’s no denying the impact that they had.

Even when they reunited in the mid and late 2000s, they didn’t feel like the authentic DX, but they still had their fair share of fun moments as well. We take a look at the very greatest moments of DX.
