5 Things You Need To Know About Pedro Morales

Pedro Morales, unfortunately, passed away on February 12th, 2019. This is just ten months after his long-time friend and fellow-WWE Hall of Famer Bruno Sammartino passed away. Pedro Morales left behind an unforgettable legacy, but even then, it seems like for many years, his career went overlooked, and he hasn’t been viewed in the same light as many legends of his era.

It’s understandable to some extent, but Morales’ contribution to the wrestling business simply can’t be overlooked. Similar to how Bruno Sammartino basically cornered a large part of the Italian-American demographic in New York City and surrounding areas, Pedro Morales was able to do so with Puerto Rican-Americans and Latinos in general.

In fact, Morales was the first-ever Latin American World Champion in North America, and he would garner widespread popularity not just in the Northeastern territory, but in his home country of Puerto Rico as well. A gentleman outside the ring and a titan inside it, Morales has practically done it all in the wrestling business. We pay tribute to the late great legend, and here are a few things you may not have known about him!
