#1.) He hated snakes
This is a fact that’s really hard to get around. You’re probably well aware of “Damien”, the snake that Jake Roberts carried around throughout his career. You might be surprised to learn that there were, in fact, many Damien’s. It’s shocking to hear, but Roberts himself admitted that he never really liked snakes, and the gimmick was Vince McMahon‘s brainchild.
He even stated that he would have to carry a snake around when travelling on the road for anywhere between 4 to 6 weeks. That doesn’t sound easy, or fun!
