Jake Roberts’ original dream was to be an architect. However, during a wrestling show, he decided that it would be a good idea to challenge one of the wrestlers and try to beat them up. Naturally, it didn’t work out that way for the young Roberts, and he was humiliated. His father told him that he was ashamed of him and that he wouldn’t amount to anything.
Roberts gave up on his architectural dream and pursued a career in wrestling so that he could make his father proud. It was a tragic beginning alone, let alone all the tragedies that Roberts would have throughout his career.
