Jake “The Snake” Roberts was a masterclass in-ring technician. He brought psychology into wrestling like no other, and his style was undoubtedly revolutionary for its time. Mind you, this was a time when the DDT was still one of the most devastating moves in all of wrestling.
Jake Roberts was a one-of-a-kind performer. Either he was the most hated man in the business or one of the most loved. No one was able to bring out the nefariousness of their characters the way Roberts did. We saw a lot of great heels from the Golden Era, but Roberts brought something entirely different to the table.
