We often talk about the prestige that titles hold, but in 2003, the Intercontinental Championship held a lot of prestige. In September 2003, Christian defended the Intercontinental Championship against Rob Van Dam in a ladder match. As you can imagine, the action that ensued was one to remember for the ages.
It became a RAW classic, with RVD constantly trying to get the Five-Star Frog Splash from the ladder. In the end, he finally secured it, and the shot of him doing the “Rob Van Dam” taunt with the crowd in unison from the top of the ladder was nothing short of iconic. He would proceed to grab the title and become Intercontinental Champion again.
