#5.) They unintentionally offended the Samoan community

Before their face paint and their notable entrance pre-2016, The Usos weren’t always the team we know. They were fairly generic and wanted to spice up their presence. The pitched doing an entrance known as the Siva Tau, which is the Samoan version of the New Zealand Haka.

They initially pitched it to Billy Gunn, who liked the idea. He talked to Vince McMahon about it and months later, McMahon asked The Usos to do it in front of him. Impressed, he agreed to let them start using it for their entrances. However, they initially used the Haka as their entrance as it was more popular. They revealed that by doing this, they offended the Samoan community, with many of their family members calling them (including their parents) and labeling them as “kayfabe Samoans”.

As a result, they started doing the Siva Tau and it worked well for them until 2016.
