Winner: Triple H
Despite the fact that the winner was obvious from the start, it didn’t hinder the Rumble or make it any less exciting. Triple H had just returned from a 7-month injury, after famously tearing his quad during a match (and somehow continuing the match until the end anyway). He returned as the biggest babyface on the roster and declared his intentions to win the Rumble right off the bat.
His dream comeback would gain huge momentum as he entered at #22 and lasted for 23 minutes. He overcame the likes of elite stars such as Big Show, Kane, Kurt Angle and more to win his first-ever Rumble match. He would go on to main event WrestleMania X8 and become Undisputed WWE Champion.
