Could there have been a better debut for AJ Styles? He had just competed in the co-main event of Wrestle Kingdom that month and right after, rumors were floating that he had signed with WWE. With everything seemingly near confirmed, fans just waited to see if the Royal Rumble would be his debut date. And they weren’t disappointed.
At number three, a new, unheard song had played, and the titantron slowly showed the words “I am Phenomenal”, leading the crowd to erupt like never before. It was Orlando and fans knew who AJ Styles was. His biggest worry hadn’t come true and he received the reaction of a lifetime. Even now, you can get goosebumps when watching his debut.
