#5.) Becky Lynch‘s rapid rise to the top
Becky Lynch was one of those superstars who was stuck in creative limbo for a long time. For over a full year, she was not involved in any significant feud, was hardly ever in the title picture and had no momentum. Yet, she was still popular with the fans. 2018 saw a slow change as she quietly picked up the best win streak on SmackDown Live up to summer.
She then found herself in the championship picture again, only for Charlotte Flair to steal her thunder once again and win the title. Fans were furious and Becky snapped, turning heel in the process. However, the turn got a completely opposite reaction than what was expected. She didn’t become hated – she became the hottest superstar in the company. Week after week, her reactions grew stronger and she ended up winning the SmackDown Women’s title after two long years.
She lost the title three months later, but it hasn’t changed the fact that she took the ball and ran with it. Her character took a complete turn for the better and she’s become a bonafide main eventer in a short span of time.
