#3.) Television appearances
Aldis has some television experience as well. He’s appeared on Are You Smarter Than A 10-Year Old and even had an appearance as a presenter on UK’s Strongest Man for two consecutive years in 2012 and 2013. However, his most prominent appearance was in the UK version of Gladiators in 2008-09.
Just by watching the clip, you can make out that Aldis excelled in the program. His pro-wrestling experience proved to be very important here as he played the role of “Oblivion” and was a natural heel through and through. In the video above he states that his character on the show was simply an extension of himself. But if you really look at it, he cuts old-school pro wrestling promos and killed it at every occasion.
He used the mic to become the most hated character on the show but there was no denying the type of athlete that he was. Interestingly enough, when he debuted in TNA in 2008, his ring name was Brutus Magnus and his character was that of a modern day Gladiator.
