It’s hard to find a wrestler as well-appreciated in the ring yet severely underrated like Dean Malenko. He’s well-acknowledged as one of the all-time great technical wrestlers, but it still feels like he never got the appreciation he truly deserved. Either way, he turned out to be Chris Jericho’s greatest rival in WCW.
The two cruiserweights had wars together and were perfect opponents who managed to bring out the best in each other. It was this feud that saw Jericho cut the famous “Man of 1,0004 holds” that also led to Malenko’s “Man of 1,000 holds” persona. The feud was a very memorable one and certainly was Jericho at his best in WCW.
