#4.) Bret Hart vs Diesel – Survivor Series 1995
In another case of fans getting tired of the company-pushed babyface, Diesel was running out of steam as WWE Champion. He was about to hit a full-year with the title and his big challenge came in the form of Bret Hart, the multi-time WWE Champion. It was clear that fans desired to see Hart win and Hart, being one of the all-time greats, had an instant classic with Diesel.
The psychology of the match was off the charts and the clever finish saw Hart send Diesel through the announce table (this was much before they became as common as they are now) and when the WWE Champion tried to desperately finish the match, he got caught in a roll-up by by Hart, losing the WWE title.
The loss actually turned out to be quite beneficial for Diesel, as it added an edge to his character, no longer being shackled by the chains of the corporate backing.
