#1.) Team RAW vs Team SmackDown – Survivor Series 2016
When you put nostalgia aside, there’s absolutely no getting around the fact that the current generation of superstars are far better in the ring and putting on great matches. This was the case at Survivor Series 2016 as RAW and SmackDown Live recruited the very best for each team. Just to put it in perspective as to how star-studded the teams were, this was what they looked like:
Team RAW: Kevin Owens, Chris Jericho, Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins and Braun Strowman
Team SmackDown Live: AJ Styles, Dean Ambrose, Shane McMahon, Randy Orton and Bray Wyatt
The two teams went just shy of an hour and put on the most exciting, action-packed and fast-paced match in the history of the PPV. The story told, the eliminations, the quality of superstars and just the general execution made this the perfect elimination match. It’s going to be a hard one to top for years to come.
Team SmackDown was victorious as Randy Orton and Bray Wyatt last eliminated Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns. The finish saw Orton take a bullet and sacrifice himself so Bray Wyatt could hit Sister Abigail on Reigns for the win. It cemented Orton and Wyatt as a dominant force and led to an extremely interesting storyline on SmackDown Live.
