When we said that Aries never lost the X-Division championship in 2012, it was because he chose to relinquish it. It was around this period that TNA introduced the concept of X-Division Champions forfeiting their title shot to get a World Championship match.
Aries was as hot as ever and TNA in a rare moment struck the iron while it was hot. Aries took on Bobby Roode for the World title at Destination X and in one of the greatest matches and moments in TNA history, he beat Roode to become World Champion. It was a feel-good moment and fans popped big seeing Aries finally win the big one.
