#3.) Record-breaking X-Division title reign
In 2011, Austin Aries was gaining serious momentum. He was a heel and had won the X-Division Championship at No Surrender 2011. It would be the start of a historic reign, where he basically ran through a large chunk of the roster, successfully defending his championship. He had been gaining popularity all through it and it eventually resulted in an organic face turn.
He would break Christopher Daniels‘ previous record of 182 days as X-Division Champion. He would go much further as his reign ended at 298 days and he never even lost the title. But we’ll get back to that.
