Michaels and Chris Jericho had a great feud in 2003 but it was their 2008 rivalry that stood out. Wrestling fans seem to unanimously agree that Michaels vs Jericho was the best feud of 2008. It was deep, personal, intense and was the definition of a grudge match. Add to the fact that Jericho was the World Heavyweight Champion, the stakes couldn’t have gotten much higher.
The feud saw Jericho and Michaels bring out the very best in each other. Y2J played a nasty heel, but when you really look into the story, his heel turn was actually one of the most justified ones. Either way, it was Jericho at his peak and with Shawn Michaels, created an absolutely magical feud.
The rivalry culminated at No Mercy 2008, where Jericho beat Michaels in a ladder match.
